Major categories of flower plants in Malaysia.

1. Full-Sun Lovers (The Heat Seekers)

These are the toughest plants that need at least 6 hours of direct sunlight to bloom vibrantly. They are perfect for front gates and open garden beds.

2. Filtered Light & Partial Shade (The Delicate Blooms)

These prefer the "morning sun" (until 11 AM) or filtered light under a porch or a green netting.

3. Fragrant Flowers (The Scented Garden)

Many Malaysians plant these near windows or porches to catch the evening breeze.

4. Water Flowers (For Ponds & Pots)

If you have a water feature or a large clay pot with no drainage, these are the go-to: Water Lily (Teratai), Lotus (Seroja).
